Dr. Metzger grew up in New Brighton, MN.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota with high distinction receiving a Bachelor of Science degree.  In 1988 he received his DDS from the University Of Minnesota School Of Dentistry and gained membership in the Omikron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

After graduation, Dr. Metzger had the fortune to work with two excellent mentors: Dr. Vern Steffens who was a pioneer in the use of tooth colored restorative materials, and Dr. Richard Yorston, an excellent clinician who excelled at cosmetic and restorative treatment.  Both were knowledgeable and generous associates.

In 2001, Dr. Metzger built a new state-of-the art facility in Spring Lake Park. The practice had adopted CEREC technology and he wanted a facility that would allow him to integrate CEREC along with the newest computer technology, including digital radiography. This attractive and well-designed building allows for change and growth. 

His hobbies include fine woodworking, physical fitness and shooting sports.
